on-premise.
Features of Dynamics AX ‘7’ (Expectations)
Features of Dynamics AX ‘7’ (Expectations)
- Best in class Lifecycle Management regardless of the deployment you choose. The cloud based solution will be platform independent with three key pillars: new browser client, cloud readiness and new development stack.
- Delivered on the cloud through Windows Server and/or Windows Azure. The ERP will be available on Azure and will use SQL Azure platform-as-a-service (PaaS) database offering. The robust features of Azure, including disaster recovery and scalability, make it a great fit for the needs of the Rainier.
- Next generation user experiences that feature a context sensitive Windows 8 experience based on HTML5 client technology. For instance, the ERP will have a new browser based interface, which will also replace the Enterprise portal rolling capabilities like employee self-service in it.
- No longer need to invest in SharePoint hosting since Enterprise portal will be eliminated.
- Capability to expose updateable views using OData
- No RPC based communication. Unlike was the case with some of the previous AX products, the event logs in AX ‘7’ will not get filled with RPC errors.
- Other functional updates that will make it easier for AX customers to carry out different tasks are likely to be released, like is that case with every release.
